Happy 4th!
This weekend was a reintroduction to Chicago. Loved it. Saturday morning, I went to North Avenue Beach and had a picnic with my parents. In the afternoon, we went to Body Works, an exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry (with real human specimens). Very artistic and tasteful. It's definitely worth a look. Later that evening, we celebrated my mom's birthday at the Red Rooster, a French restaurant in Lincoln Park. Excellent food. We had zucchini and saffron soup, escagots in garlic and olive oil, scallops in a bed of asparagus salad with basalmic vinegrette (my mom), braised beef bourgogne with corkscrew pasta(my dad), and oano blackfish with roasted vegetables (me). At home, I made poire Helene for 3 and opened a bottle of wine I bought in Nice. De-lish.
I also stopped by at the Taste of Chicago. On Sunday. The food was hot, fatty, and scrumptuous. The appetizer was crab cakes with pesto from La Scala. I burned my tongue on fried oysters from Frank's Shrimp. And cooled off with Bailey's ice cream and blueberry italian ice.
Now that I'm refreshed, there are more updates to come about being a pre-med in Nice. The first week is up with photos :) Let me know what you think.
